He is known for his unique creations that incorporate natural materials such as rattan, bamboo, abaca, and Buri palm with traditional Southeast Asian patterns. He blends traditional craft with modern technology, resulting in innovative handmade products that have garnered international acclaim.has revolutionized the use of natural materials in contemporary furniture design. His commitment to sustainability and his dedication to preserving traditional techniques have made him a respected figure in the design world. Cobonpue has received multiple awards, including the Japan Good Design Award, Design for Asia Award, and French Coup de Coeur award. TIME Magazine called him "rattan's first great virtuoso." His clients include Hollywood celebrities including Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, Queen Sofía of Spain, and Queen Rania of Jordan. Cobonpue's work has also been featured in films such as Ocean's 13 and CSI Miami.
