He blends traditional craft with modern technology, resulting in innovative handmade products that have garnered international acclaim.has revolutionized the use of natural materials in contemporary furniture design. Cobonpue has received multiple awards, including the Japan Good Design Award, Design for Asia Award, and French Coup de Coeur award. TIME Magazine called him "rattan's first great virtuoso."
